Questions people ask
About the phone line, the companies on the other end, and what to ask them.
Calls are answered early morning to late evening
Does Modesto Bug Control come out to my house?
No. It connects you by phone with an independent pest control company, and that company decides on any visit with you.
Which company will I talk to?
It depends on your area and which companies are taking calls at that moment. Ask for the company's name and license details on the call.
How do I check the company?
California's Structural Pest Control Board shows license status through the state's public license search.
How much will it cost?
This site does not set prices. The pest, the size of the home, how far along the problem is and how many visits it takes all matter. See what drives pest control cost.
What about my kids and pets during treatment?
This site cannot tell you that, and pesticide labels may not make that kind of promise either. Ask the company what it plans to use, how to prepare and how long to stay out. California requires a written notice naming the pesticide. The preparation guide has more.
What hours can I call?
Calls are answered early morning to late evening. If you don't get through, try again a little later.
Do you handle wildlife or bees?
No. How it works lists what the number does not cover.
I rent. Should I call?
Tell your landlord in writing first. California's Attorney General says landlords must provide adequate pest control for rodents and insects. See renters, landlords and pests.
Can I report a neglected pool with mosquitoes?
Yes. That goes to your mosquito abatement district. The mosquito page has both numbers.
Which areas does this cover?
Modesto and nearby towns in Stanislaus County. The towns page lists the ZIP codes.
Seeing it now? Make the call.
You will be connected with an independent pest control company that works in your area. Say what you have seen and where, then ask about the visit. Nothing is decided until you agree to it with the company.
